The Keys To Perfect Skin
The skin oftentimes may be a direct representation of the lifestyle of a person. Many factors come into play when considering the goal of clear, youthful skin. A healthy, low stress lifestyle is always optimal in a perfect world, but what are some more reasonable ventures one can take in a path to perfect skin? Implementing a varied diet, with plenty of healthy fats, colorful veggies and fruits and plenty of fiber is certainly a step in the right direction. Not only including the right foods, but avoiding highly processed, high sugar foods is necessary as well(1). The more obvious approach relates to having a great skin cleansing routine with a good combination of cleansing and moisturizing. Amazingly enough, Far Infrared Sauna Therapy also can contribute to healthy skin through skin cell rejuvenation and detoxification.
Accelerating rates of skin aging and acne may often go hand in hand when it comes to poor skin health.
Diets that involve highly processed foods will likely be the source of the issue. While genetics do play a role, the habit that is entirely within our control is diet. When diving into the science behind poor skin health and its link with high sugar foods, we find a cross-linking that is known as glycation. This process is established when amino acids in the collagen and the elastin present into the dermis. These amino acids are linked via glucose and fructose. This process is further accelerated through bouts of hyperglycemia. This process will lead to accelerated aging, increased skin stiffness, reduced elasticity and high rates of acne(2).
The main components of a well-rounded skin care routine are protection, prevention, cleansing and moisturizing. Oftentimes people tend to underestimate the damage that sun can bring to skin. Many dermatologists actually recommend daily sunscreen use.. Ingredients to look for include zinc oxide or avobenzone(3). When looking for a good cleanser it is important to take into account your specific type of skin and cater toward that. Pay close attention whether you choose a cleanser suited for oily, dry or a combination of both. It is also important to note that some cleansers may interact with your skin poorly in comparison to others, so it is important to find what works for you, rather than what works for others. A good moisturizer can benefit the skin in terms of healing, elasticity, firmness and wrinkling. We often find that these characteristics worsen with age and this is linked to the decrease of skin density with age, being roughly 6.4% per decade(3). Overall finding a well rounded skincare routine that works for you, will help lead to beautiful, youthful skin.Luxor Sauna Dome - Shown Here
